Close to the land of the ‘Battle of Plassey’ in Murshidabad lies Panchthupi, a sleepy hamlet surrounded by lush green paddy fields. The name ‘Panchthupi’ itself signifies ‘Panch’ means five and ‘thupi’ denotes ‘ Stupa’ (dome shaped structures constructed to commemorate events in Buddha era and often containing some relic of Gautama Buddha).
