A 15 day itinerary starting from Delhi exploring 10 world heritage sites in India.

Day 1

Origin: New Delhi

Destination: Aurangabad (Maharashtra)

>1:20 PM- Board on Amritsar Nanded Express from New Delhi station which runs everyday

>Enjoy the approximately 22 hours long journey with beautiful sights on the way

Day 2

11:30AM – Arrive at Aurangabad station

>Check-In at Hotel Kartiki

>Get Refreshed

> explore the city

> Visit Bibi ka Maqbara also known as Mini Taj of the Deccan (not a WHS), which is at 3km distance from the city

Day 3

Origin: Aurangabad

Destination: Ajanta Caves

>Start early as it takes approx. 3 hours to reach by public transport.

>The Ajanta caves are closed on Mondays so plan accordingly.

>Spend rest of the day exploring earliest Buddhist architecture, caves paintings and sculptures. These caves comprises shrines, dedicated to Lord Buddha & monasteries (Viharas) used by Buddhist monks for meditation and study of Buddhist teachings.

>Return to the hotel.

Day 4

Origin: Aurangabad

Destination: Ellora Caves

>Start early around 7AM as it takes approx. 2 hours to reach by Public Buses.

>Ellora caves are closed on Tuesdays so plan accordingly.

>There are 34 caves, structures excavated out of the vertical face of the hills. There are 12 Mahayana Buddhist caves (caves 1-12), 17 Hindu caves (caves 13-29) and 5 caves of the Jain faith (caves 30-34), 22 more caves, dedicated to Lord Shiva, which were recently discovered.

> Central attraction- Kailash Temple (cave16)

>Return to Aurangabad around sunset by public transport.

> 11:25PM- Board Devagiri Express

Distance Traveled- 60kms

Day 5

7:10- Deboard at Mumbai CST

>Take time to be part of India’s past, present and future mixed into one overpopulated, irrepressibly vibrant whole, Victoria Terminus(CST). But one could only get in to the part where the tickets are sold and the trains leave. The best part of the building (under the huge dome) is off limits to visitors.

Day 6

Origin: Gateway of India

Destination: Elephanta Caves

>From here, get the tickets for the launch (boat or ferry ). The journey takes 1 hour to reach the island by sea.

>There are several caves one can visit. One can also walk up to the top of the Island, which is called Cannon Hill.

Day 7

Origin: Mumbai

Destination: Thivim

>Board on Konkan Kanya Express at 11:05PM of Day 6th.

>Deboard at Thivim station at 10:40AM.

>Check-In at Evershine Guesthouse.

>Explore the city. Visit Anjuna Beach and Flea Market

Day 8

Origin: Anjuna

Destination: Velha Goa

>Visit Basilica of Bom Jesus, Se’ Cathedral Church, Church and Convent of St. Francis of Assisi, Chapel of St. Catherine, Chapel of St. Cajetan, Church of Lady of Rosary and Church of St. Augustine.

Day 9

>Visit the scenic chapel on Monte Hill in Margo.

>Go to Madgaon Railway station. Board on Goa Express train at 2:08PM.

Day 10

> Day is spent in train journey.

Day 11

> Deboard at Agra Cantt station at 5:00AM.

>Visit Taj Mahal.

>Shop at Mughal Bazaar.

>Taste the Petha and Joda Paan.

Day 12

>Visit Agra Fort which is similar in layout to Red Fort.

>Spend the rest of the day in Mehtab Bagh, admiring the view of Taj Mahal across the banks.

Day 13

>Visit Fatehpur Sikri. Carry a bag to put the slippers.

>Get the pictures clicked at Buland Darwaza.

>See one of the largest mosques in India, the Jama Masjid.

Distance Traveled- 60kms

Day 14

>Take a bus to Bharatpur which takes an hour.

>Hire a bike to visit Keoladeo Bird Sancturay

>Also visit Lohagarh Fort.

Distance Traveled- 65kms

Day 15

> Board NZM Jan Shatabdi for Delhi.

>Arrive in Delhi at 12:30PM.

>Reach Home, relax and rejoice at the memories of last two weeks.
