UNESCO World Heritage Sites have always been the most sought after place of the film makers. Hundreds of movies have been shot at different world heritage sites across the globe.�Given below is the list of 5 movies that have been shot at world famous locations:

1. Pardes

A Subhash Ghai film starring Shahrukh Khan(Arjun) , Mahima Choudhary (Ganga) and Apruva Agnihotri (Rajiv),�Pardes�revolves aorund the story of Ganga whose family plan her wedding with Rajiv ( a family friend from America). Ganga’s ‘Indian values’ confront with Rajiv’s American way of life and Ganga finds herself more attached to Arjun (Rajiv’s friend).�After Rajiv arrives in India, Ganga’s family goes out for a picnic where Arjun sings the famous ‘�Do Dil Mil Rahe Hain‘ song. This song has been beautifully shot at�Fatehpur Sikri, with detailed focus on the different parts of the beautiful structure.

2. �Monte Carlo

Monte Carlo�is a 2011 American�romantic comedy film�directed by�Thomas Bezucha. The movie features�Selena Gomez,�Leighton Meester�and�Katie Cassidy�as three friends posing as wealthy socialites in�Monte Carlo, Monaco. The film has a confused plot but the end shows�Meg (Leighton Meester)�and Riley (Luke Bracey) going on a world tour. This trip includes visiting the famous heritage sites of�Machu Picchuand the�Eiffel Tower. The couple goes on the top of the tower and screams at the top of their voices in order to vent out all their emotions. This gives a happy ending to the movie.�

3. Leader

Leader�is a 1964�CinemaScope�Hindi political drama film. The film is produced by�Sashadhar Mukherjee�and directed by�Ram Mukherjee�. The film stars�Dilip Kumar,�Vyjayanthimala�and�Jayant.�Vijay Khanna (played by Dilip Kumar) is a law graduate-cum- tabloid editor who falls in love with Sunita (Vijayanthimala), while general elections are underway. Vijay is accused of murder of a politcial but gradually the couple tries to expose the criminal-politician nexus. 4. Veer and Jodha Akbar

Rajasthan has always a coveted place for shooting movies, especially those which have a historical significance. The favourite of all places is the�Amer Fort which serves as a perfect depiction of a royal palace. Salman Khan starrer�Veer�was majorly shot in the Amer Fort. Because the movie revolves around the love story of warrior Veer Pratap Singh and Princess Yashodhara, the Amer fort served as the royal palace of the king whose daughter was Yashodhara.

Jodha Akbar, the legendary movie revolving around the story of emperor Akbar and his wife Jodha Bai. The movie was shot in different locations across North India and the Amer Fort was one of them. The very famous song ‘Kehne ko Jashane Bahara hai’ was shot in the ‘saffron garden’ area of the fort.

5. Dil Se

Dil Se�is a 1998�Bollywood,�Romantic thriller�film in the backdrop of�terrorism, directed by�Mani Ratnam. The film stars�Shahrukh Khan�and�Manisha Koirala�in lead roles while�Preity Zinta�appears in a supporting role. The film was a huge success and won�two�National Film Awards, and seven�Filmfare Awards. The entire music album of the movie was a huge hit with ‘chaiyya chaiyya’ song receving special recognition. In the movie�Amar Kant Varma (Shahrukh Khan), a�Program Executive�for�All India Radio�is dispatched from�New Delhi�to cover festivities in the northeastern parts of India, and�Kashmir. In the midst of rain storm, on his way to board�Baraks Valley Express, he comes across a beautiful woman (Manisha Koirala) and is instantly attracted to the stranger. This Barak Valley Express shown in the movie is actually the Nilgiri Mountain Railway�on which the famous song ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya‘ is shot.
