The spectacular view of Qutub Minar
I went to Delhi for my intern-ship a year ago. I was staying at Gurgaon in South Delhi. I love visiting historic places so visiting Qutub Minar was the first thing in my agenda. Thus taking a day off from my job I decided to visit Qutub Minar, one of the tallest minarets of the world. This red sandstone and marble tower is 72 metres in height and has 379 staircases which lead to a spectacular and overwhelming view of the entire city. The Qutub complex is truly the greatest master piece of Mughal architecture. There were elaborately written plagues everywhere that helped me to understand the history of this giant tower. The lush green lawns, the majestic tower, the medieval tombs, iron pillars and the mosques – all were visually very captivating. This trip to qutub minar was a good experience for me learning about the rich heritage of my country.
