Pune has a strong bond with food, so much so, that it is called the hub of foodies. Owing to this fact, many food festivals are regularly organised in the city. One such event is the Kolhapuri Food Festival, which was organised for three days at Pandit Farms, D P Road at Karvenagar. The response, needless to say, was overwhelming.
The prime purpose of thefestival is so that the locals and visitors to the city get a taste of authentic Kolhapuri food. The festival bringsthe best of food, lifestyle andbrands from Kolhapur to Pune. Relish lipsmacking assal (authentic) Kolhapuri cuisine from a wide range of options.
For lovers of non-vegetarian food, there is pandhra tambda rassa (white mutton gravy),mutton bhakri (mutton with homemade bread), khandoli (essentially bread-omlette). For vegetarians, there ishurda thalipeeth (a type of gram roasted on a pan), pudachi vadi(a snack made of gram flour), appe (fermented batter of rice and black lentil) andthe original special bhel of Rajabhau and a Sunday special Phadtare Misal.
There are also ice golas in various unique flavours such ascoffee and green mango and for paan lovers, there is the famousRajarampuri paan from Rajabal Panmandir.
If all this was not enough, there were stalls of local Kolhapuri brands such asDeepak Chiwda, Yalgud Milk Bread, Sanglis home-made bhadang, Ajara Ghansal Tandool selling their wares at convenient rates.
