The foodie’s destination: Kolhapuri food festival

Pune has a strong bond with food, so much so, that it is called the hub of foodies. Owing to this fact, many food festivals are regularly organised in the city.�One such event is the Kolhapuri Food Festival, which was organised for three days at Pandit Farms, D P Road at Karvenagar.�The response, needless to say, was overwhelming.

The prime purpose of the�festival is so that the locals and visitors to the city get a taste of authentic Kolhapuri food. The festival brings�the best of food, lifestyle and�brands from Kolhapur to Pune. Relish lipsmacking assal (authentic) Kolhapuri cuisine from a wide range of options.

For lovers of non-vegetarian food, there is pandhra tambda rassa (white mutton gravy),�mutton bhakri (mutton with homemade bread), khandoli (essentially bread-omlette). For vegetarians, there is�hurda thalipeeth (a type of gram roasted on a pan), pudachi vadi�(a snack made of gram flour), appe (fermented batter of rice and black lentil) and�the original special bhel of Rajabhau and a Sunday special Phadtare Misal.

There are also ice golas in various unique flavours such as�coffee and green mango and for paan lovers, there is the famous�Rajarampuri paan from Rajabal Panmandir.

If all this was not enough, there were stalls of local Kolhapuri brands such as�Deepak Chiwda, Yalgud Milk Bread, Sangli�s home-made bhadang, Ajara Ghansal Tandool selling their wares at convenient rates.
