i had gone on a vacation to singapore so i decided to complete my #gounsecoselfie task from their.
singapore is also know as the lion city because of its famous merlion statue.
The Merlion is a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, used as a mascot and national personification of Singapore. Its name combines “mer” meaning the sea and “lion”. The fish body represents Singapore’s origin as a fishing village , which means “sea town” in Japanese. The lion head represents Singapore’s original name — Singapura — meaning “lion city” or “kota singa”
Merlion is the most famous tourists attraction in singapore. i found the merlion statue nearly of all sizes at all tourists attractions in singapore.
the above picture is taken in the merlion park..where a big statue of merlion is placed and a beautiful scenery is created around. at night different color lights are thrown on the statue which gives a mesmerizing view. water is sprayed through the merlion’s mouth 24/7 which makes the surrounding very pleasant.
merlion is so famous in the city that in all shops their were large number of merlion’s souvenirs.
the statue is beautifully carved and leaves the tourists awe struck..
