A royal cemetery for Kodagu’s princely family

Kodagu, the land of Kodavas boasts of a captivating historic timeline. The district of Kodagu in Karnataka, India has seen an amalgamation of various princely states (Haleri kings and Nayakas of Kodagu) , the Sultans of Mysore and the British.

The kings and queens of the royal family of Kodagu were buried together and a group of tombs were constructed in their honour to form a mausoleum in Gaddige.
