The Venice Biennale – Crossword and Review

For this task #3 I have decided to review the article of my compatriot Maria Gobbi. She wrote an article about the Venice Biennale, among the most important cultural events in the world.

The Art Biennale, a contemporary visual art exhibition, is so called as it is held biennially, in odd-numbered years; It was originally held in the city of Venice in 1895 and is the original biennale on which others elsewhere in the world are modelled.

The foundation has widened its cultural offer during the years and now organizes events in different fields such as cinema, theatre, music and architecture.

This is the japanese pavilion of the 2015 event. The installation, called ‘The key in the hand’, was curated by japanese artist Chiharu Shiota.

The keys came from donors from across the world and so are <<filled by infinite layers of memory >>, as the artist described them. Mr. Shiota wanted to let visitors enter into never-told stories, collected inside the two boats in the room, where all the red thread converged.

During the visit a video showed children who try to recollect to mind their first memories and a voice tells <<How did you came into the world?>>. <<While I was creating the installation, memories of all people who entrusted me their keys came to my mind and mingle with mine>>, said the artist.
