My Visit To Alampur Jogulamba Temple

Alampur is a town situated in Mahbubnagar district of Telangana State in  India. It is the meeting point of the sacred rivers Tungabhadra and Krishna and referred to as Dakshina Kashi.

The Yogamba temple which is regarded as a Shakti Peetha is located at Alampur. Shakti Peethas are shrines which are the most divine seats of the Mother Goddess. It is said that the body parts of the corpse of Sati Devi has fallen in these places. Yogamba is also known as Jogulamba, it is considered the 5th Shakti Peeta among  the eighteen Shakti peethas. The Yogamba  temple is regarded as a Shakti Peetha where Sati Devi’s upper teeth fell.

Brahmesvara and Papanatha are the two groups of temples on either side of Alampur. In 7th century AD Badami Chalukyas built these temples. The shrine of Bhudevi is present in the premises of Bala Brahmeswara temple.

The Alampur Navabhrama Temples are historically important and reflect remarkable architectural skills.  The popular temple stands as a testimony to Chalukya Art and Culture. The plans and decoration are similar to that of the rock cut temples found in Karnataka and Maharastra.

The original temple was destroyed and the main idol along with the consorts was damaged by the Muslim invaders (Bahamani rulers) in 1390 AD. Again the temple was reconstructed after 615 years.

Popular festivals like Shivaratri and Navaratri are celebrated with great splendour at Bala Brahmeswar temple.

CONCLUSION:

So here i conclude to nominate Alampur Jogulamba Temple to include  in list of WHS.

As it this temple is historically important, and it also has  unique remarkable architecture and landscape.
