The city of Aleppo has been ravaged in the ongoing armed conflict between government and rebelforces. BBC and New York Times reported today that the fighting has left one of Middle East’s most storied mosques severely damaged in the Ancient Walled City of Aleppo, a UNESCO world heritage site. Both sides have blamed the other for the destruction. It is sad to see that the conflict has already claimed thousands of lives, and caused the loss of historic sites such as this mosque with no end in sight yet.
