I was 15 years old when i visited KONARK SUN TEMPLE with my parents and family friends. We hired an open gypsy from Puri to konark. The route was so beautiful that we all wish we lived somewhere nearby. It was the month of december and konark looked amazing in this season , a perfect time to enjoy and have fun.
“Mom where are we going?”my younger sister enquired curiosly. My mom told us about Sun temple.
She said :�‘Kona’ means ‘Corner’ and ‘Arka’ means ‘Sun. KONARK SUN TEMPLE IS THE MOST EXQUISITE SUN TEMPLE IN INDIA. It was built in the middle of 13th century by King Narasimhadeva I. The detailed beautiful carvings on temple walls is exotic. It tells a lot about the life of indian people at that time. There is a deep story related to the sun temple, exactly which is not known to anybody. There are different versions of stories available but believing them completely depends on you.
Sculptures say a lot…. an unanswered� question exists related to the sculptures of this place that is- “Was India A Sexually Frustrated Country?”
Everybody should visit this once in their lifetime and figure out the exact truth…It would be like solving a mystery…A very different experience.
I am in love with the positive feeling you get as you enter it. I do not want to come back.
