If you have had the chance to visit Egypt before, you must have visited Old Cairo which is a small simple place that contains places of worship for the three religions ( Judaism , Christianity – including Orthodox and Roman Catholics and Islam) among the poor and old houses of Egyptian people. Because of the magic of this place I love exploring it regularly and knowing new information in each time and I am proud to write about it and encouraging others to come and visit it, in my last visit, first, i have gone to church of Saint George which is a Roman Catholic church that is considered to be one of the spectacular monuments in Egypt as its buildings have a special shape taken from the Roman buildings as it shown in the first photo , also it contains some of the tools that were used in torturing Saint George that attract Christians to take a blessing from them and on Friday in the Holy Week there is a wonderful celebration for this occasion which considered to be the best in Old Cairo , I really recommend you to attend it next year.

Then I have gone to abu serga church which have the same design as Saint Barbara church as they were both designed by the same person and between these two churches the Synagogue is located and this what I love in this region -it reflects tolerance and acceptance between the religions that we need to apply them in reality because we are poor to these morals and we need them the most. So this place really is an inspirational place for the one who really wants to redefine the way he/ she is living and the behavior he/she has.

Then I have gone to the Hanging Church ( Saint Mary and Saint Demiana Church ) which is in my opinion the flower of this place, anytime you will enter the Hanging church you will find many visitors ( Egyptians and foreigners ) who are amazed with how the church was built upon the columns of Babylon fortressand see through the glass ground these columns in which the church is fixed on beside the old portraits for Saint Mary the virgin and the Coptic art that was used in decorating the walls inside the church itself.

At the end of my tour, I have gone to Mosque of Amr Ibn Al-Aas, it was the first time for me to enter this Mosque and by chance it was in Ramadan I really enjoyed watching how the people were praying and worshiping God , and how others were preparing for eating after the Maghreb’s prayer. these people added extra beauty to the beauty of the building and the Islamic art that is used in the decoration.

Really, the religious complex is one of the beautiful heritage places in Cairo , it is not big in space but it is rich in information and history, Irecommend you to come and visit this place and we will not regret ;).
