The India Gate is the monument that has enormous historical significance. This monument was planned by the architect Sir Edwin Lutyen and is the gateway that is 42 meter high. He also laid down the plan of Delhi. Duke of Connaught was the person who laid down the foundation stone of this historical monument. In the month of Feb 1921 India Gate�s construction got completed. �India Gate is also popular by another name ‘All India War Memorial‘ that was built in Delhi in the memory and honor of 90000 soldiers who got died in the 1st World War as well as the 3rd War of Anglo Afghan.�

There is a regular burning flame named as ‘Amar Jawan Jyoti’ that is immortal warrior flame and is continuously burning under India Gate since 1971. This purpose of this flame is to remind the brave soldiers� sacrifice who has lost their lives for the protection of their nation. The local people of Delhi consider India Gate as one of the picnic spot sof Delhi where they can get relaxed in summer evenings. It is also a famous picnic spot for the people during winters too. This popular monument is located in the core heart of Delhi that can be easily accessed by the tourists and the people. India Gate is situated on the eastern end of Janpath and that way continues towards the Rashtrapati Bhawan. Me reached there by bus #966. Enormous variety of enjoyment is being offered by India Gate. One can spend his whole day by watching the performance of monkeys, camel riding, by enjoying with balloons and watching the soap bubbles blowing in the lawns of India Gate etc. During the evening time India Gate gets crowded by the local people as well as the tourists. A number of mobile vendors and hawkers move around the India Gate. A number of snacks are available with these hawkers and vendors like a variety of fast foods, ‘bhelpuri’, ‘fruit chaat’, pakodas of Dal, ‘chana jor garam’, variety of aerated drinks etc.
