The Birla Planetarium in Kolkata, West Bengal, is a single-storeyed circular structure whose architecture is loosely styled in the Buddhist stupa at Sanchi. It is the largest planetarium in Asia and second largest planetarium in the world. It has an astronomy gallery that contains huge collection of fine paintings and models. Daily programs are conducted between 12:00-7:00 pm in English, Hindi and Bengali and other language includes Oriya, Tamil and Gujarati. Hence, language is no bar. It was a good experience to go and visit Birla Planetarium and my liking towards astronomy made the visit even better. People with the liking for astronomy must visit Birla Planetarium.
